LAUREN FAGAN SOPRANO
“Fagan, one of today’s finest young sopranos, is exceptional throughout and a superb actor. Her tone blazes with existential defiance and desperation, and she possesses both the agility for act one – Sempre Libera is capped by a dazzling top E flat – and the dramatic weight for the closing scenes.”
A graduate of Covent Garden’s prestigious Jette Parker Young Artist Programme, Lauren Fagan has developed into one of today’s most accomplished young sopranos and had the honour of representing her native Australia in the 2019 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition.
Plans for the 2023/24 include Fagan's return to Opernhaus Zürich debuting as Gutrune in Homoki/Noseda's new Ring Cycle, she also returns to Covent Garden as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel. She will also reprise the role of Agnès in George Benjamin's Written on Skin with Orchestre National de Lille as well as Roxana in Szymanowski's Krol Roger in Lithuania.

Highlights of Ms. Fagan's upcoming season include three debuts... Gutrune in Wagner's Ring Cycle at Opernhaus Zürich, Gretel at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and her Opera Australia debut as the title role in Suor Angelica.
